Important - we may seek additional advice

In some circumstances, for example for larger, complex or more sensitive proposals, Scottish Forestry may directly seek advice from local authorities and other public bodies with relevant regulatory responsibilities during the public consultation period.

  • it is very important that responses are received within the 28 day consultation period
  • the Scottish Forestry Case Officer will carefully consider the comments received And discuss any outstanding issues with the applicant. This may involve design changes or new measures to avoid or prevent any likely significant environmental effect
  • this may involve further correspondence with the applicant and individual stakeholders
  • the applicant should add any new comments arising from public consultation to the Issues log, along with any agreed outcomes
  • in exceptional circumstances, should new issues lead to significant design changes. the proposal may be subject to further public consultation
