National Stakeholder Group (NSG)

The National Stakeholder Group helps inform Scottish Government development of strategic policy issues.

Specifically, issues influencing the implementation of:

  • forestry strategy objectives
  • forestry targets
  • connected Scottish Government outcomes

This group is an advisory forum for issues that will inform the future of forestry in Scotland. It’s not a decision-making group but the discussions help shape ideas and plans.

NSG discussions include:

  • strategic issues that influence the Scottish Government’s long-term vision for forestry
  • outcomes and delivery of climate change, biodiversity and forestry targets
  • implementation, monitoring, and statutory reporting of Scotland’s forestry strategy
