Once a project requiring EIA consent has been determined, we publish details of the project on this page.

Topic: Forestry tools

Note that a number of applications detailed did not complete the EIA process and this is detailed in the case information.

Historic project Casework

This RSPB Inversnaid Reserve Environmental Impact Statement covers the restoration of approximately 150 hectares (ha) of native woodland on the RSPB Reserve at Inversnaid.

The reserve is 817 ha made up off 183 ha of internationally designated Western Atlantic Oak woodland, 509 ha of moorland and woodland and 125 ha of rough grazing. The reserve lies on the eastern banks of Loch Lomond, north of Inversnaid Hotel.

Consent decision

Consent for the project was granted on 15 November 2012.

The Glen Finglas Woodland Restoration Environmental Statement Part 1 has assessed the impact of 218 ha of native woodland restoration on Woodland Trust Scotland’s (WTS) Glen Finglas estate.

This woodland restoration would be predominantly by natural regeneration (176 ha) with some new planting (42 ha) over three sites and would be protected by circa 20 km of deer fence.

Consent decision

Consent for the project was granted on 22 January 2013

An outline proposal to plant new woodland on Invercauld Estate, using trees naturally occurring in Scotland was submitted for grant support in 2010.

It's proposed to enclose a total area of 820 hectares (2,025 acres) of heather hill and existing Scots pine woodland within a deer fence.

Approximately 40% of the area enclosed will be planted with trees, with just over 30% of the enclosed area already woodland.

The Creag Clunie Environmental Impact Assessment identifies the main affects of creating a large area of new native woodland in this location. It also makes management recommendations to ensure that the proposals will not harm the current interests on the site.

Please note, due to the large size of this report it has been split into 3 parts:

Various planting and timber haulage maps are also listed.
